Susana Sierra, executive director of BH Compliance; director and creator of the Independízate Foundation; and president of Chile Transparente, was selected as Young Global Leaders.
This Wednesday, March 11 – as every year – the World Economic Forum released the list of young global leaders under the age of 40, who through their work are changing the world.
One of those chosen this 2020 is the Chilean Susana Sierra, executive director of BH Compliance; director and creator of the Independízate Foundation; and president of Chile Transparente, who together with the others selected from the list, becomes a member of the Young Global Leaders (YGL), an independent non-profit organization that seeks to work on the leadership of these young people to advance a sustainable future.
The leaders are distinguished for their innovative work, creative approaches to problems and the ability to build bridges between business, government and civil society, with a strong social conscience that pushes them to change the world around them. Thus, the Chilean executive was awarded for her work and professional experience in matters such as probity, anti-corruption, free competition and transparency, in addition to being an outstanding entrepreneur, forming BH Compliance – a pioneering firm in the implementation of models that allow measuring and monitoring compliance programs in companies – and the Independízate foundation, which promotes entrepreneurship thanks to an innovative education model.
“It is a source of pride and inspiration to be recognized by the World Economic Forum, because it will allow me to work more strongly on the issues of probity, integrity and transparency that I have been working on for years. It is a great challenge that will undoubtedly serve to give greater visibility to transcendental issues to achieve a more prosperous and sustainable society,” said Susana Sierra.
Being part of Young Global Leaders allows Susana Sierra to join a five-year personalized leadership program with representatives of more than 100 nationalities who work in various sectors such as government, business, Nobel Prize winners and Academy Awards, among others. In addition, its members are UN Goodwill Ambassadors.
From Chile this year, biochemist Komal Dadlani was also chosen, who at the age of 24 founded Lab4U to address the lack of access by children to laboratories and teachers to educational material to excite their students. Through his company, he has made science and experimentation accessible to all.
Among those selected as Young Global Leaders at a global level in previous years are the Prime Minister of New Zealand, Jacinda Ardern; Larry Page and Sergei Brin, founders of Google; Jack Ma, founder of Alibaba; Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook; artists such as Leonardo Di Carpio and Charlize Theron; and from Chile the journalist Paula Escobar, the Evópoli senator, Felipe Kast, and the creator of Algramo, José Manuel Moller, among others.
This recognition positions Susana Sierra as one of the important voices in anti-corruption issues and a leader to change the world in this matter and contribute to a more equitable society with more opportunities.
